Excellent customer service is not something that I come across too often in Peterborough, so it is a great pleasure to be able to report that customer service is alive and well, and residing at The Beehive, Albert Place, Peterborough
Last night I went to The Beehive for a Christmas meal and drinks with some of my ex-colleagues from my old job. I hadn’t been before, but was very pleasantly surprised by the ambience, friendly and welcoming staff and the food was excellent too. It was one of the busiest nights of the year with several office parties in, and all the staff were extremely busy, but managed to find time to smile as well.
Then, half way through the evening, a power cut struck, leaving the kitchen in almost total darkness, and the customers in the eerie half light provided by the emergency lighting. The staff seemed to know instinctively what to do. The head waitress looked alarmed for a milli-second and then her experience kicked in and she started to marshal her troops, who, in fairness, were doing their best to carry on as normal. Service was only interrupted for a very short time and then resumed, with the head waitress coming round to every table and explaining what was happening. Soon, we had candles on the tables, and then the candles were taken into the kitchen. It was obvious that the customers were looked after first.
I had a chat with some of the staff when the power came back on and complimented them on their coping skills. I was really impressed. Well done The Beehive – I will certainly be back!
We all too often overlook or take for granted good service. A little energy put into compliments for same, surely yields great long term rewards to all concerned. Cheers for the Beehivers!
